Maybe This Christmas Tree

So, I just got back from Japan and this is my first chance to journal.  That is actually a lie.  I don't know what it is that has kept me from posting on this thing.  I could say I have been busy, but judging by the fact I even play World of Warcraft, that would be a HUGE lie.  Anyways, I am back.  I know I am back in journaling because I promised Melissa I would post two or three times a week.  I don't know about any of you, but since I haven't written one in 5 months or so, two-three times a week is kind of a lot of writing.

Since last time, I have picked up World of Warcraft.  The game was pretty fun by itself, but now I get a chance to play with Taylor, Derek, Kelleher, Dan S., and some new friends.  Yes this seems way dorky, but for the time we play it makes me feel so at home that it is just amazing.  All of us get on around the same time and play with headsets so we can talk back and forth.  Just being able to hear all of my friends voices making fun of each other has really made the distance not so bad this semester.  By the way, if you are wondering a I have a level 47 arcane/fire mage and a level 31 discipline specd priest.  Oh, and I am horde FTW.  I had to say all that just to prove that, if I wasn't already, I have been fully transformed into a geek.

When I am not playing WoW, which is much more often than my last paragraph suggests, I am usually with Melissa.  Things have been going really well lately.  She came over last week to wake me up in the morning, and I don't know why, but it was just really cool to have her over there in the morning.  She must really care for me to have to deal with the morning side of me.  This semester has been awesome for us though.  I feel a new energy about our relationship and can't wait to see her everyday.  Last night she came over and watched the History Channel with me, so you know something has to be going right.  I can't wait for Christmas though.  I got her the coolest present ever and she hasn't a clue on even a possibility of what it could be.  All she knows is that it comes in "variants."

On that note, Christmas is merrily on its way.  My roommates bought a real tree and we watched Christmas movies while decorating it last week.  I didn't even know if I was going to take part in the decorating, but it was one of the best nights I have had in a long time.  The tree is beautiful and it really just amps me to feel so homey(who knows how its spelled?) at the house that can, at times, look very plain and "guyish."  Christmas is, hands down, my favorite season of the year.  I don't know why I love it so much, but it is everything from the lights to the weather to the music to the giving.  I just LOVE this time of year and if you asked anybody close they could confirm that.

So, it is off to homework.  One more week of school and it is time for me to take finals and get out of here.  I have a game of spades in the que(Dad and Me vs. Angie and Jared) for when I come home.  Oh how I love my family and Christmas.  I have a feeling that the next few weeks are going to be some of the best of the year.  But I will miss Melissa over the long break...

Japan: Part 2 - Tokyo(wrap-up)

I@rounded up my days in Tokyo.  Since I last wrote, I have seen some amazing sites.  Yesterday we went and saw Mt. Fuji.  It was pretty nice, but not as great as I hoped.  It was pouring outside but I thought that made it particularly beautiful.  We went through the mountains and found a lake with low clouds and mountains everywhere; it was probably the most beautiful site I had ever seen.  I went to the top of a mountain and found a small shrine.  I was the only one that made it to the shrine in the rain and short time we had.  I got some pictures and nobody else had the chance to see what I saw.  It was one of the coolest things I have ever experienced with the serenity of the whole situation.  Today we were back in the city and I got a bunch of nice shots of different districts.  I do not have much to say about today, but it was awesome as well.  I can't wait to get back and show my photos off and tell my stories.

Japan Part 1: Tokyo

Konichiwa from Japan. I arrived in the Imperial City yesterday. The drive from the airport was enough to amaze me. I saw some just litle stuff that is right off the highway that would be nothing back home, but it is so different that it was fascinating. I love Tokyo.  Today we went around the city and saw some Shrines and gardens and different shopping districts and the such. It was so beautiful and exciting to be around. The city is super clean and quiet. It is far busier than NYC but you can still have a conversation in the busiest of intersections at a very quiet volume. There is absolutely no trash around either. It is awesome. The people are amazing here as well. Last night we had a dish at a traditional soup restaurant and the guys just made fun of use for not being able to use chopsticks. They offered a spoon while laughing, so we just told them we would tough it out. The locals will also just look and smile simply because they know we are foreigners. I had a guy ride up today and just start talking to me asking where I was from. I think he was just excited to practice English, but I was just amazed that excited to practice English, but I was just amazed that people were so firendly and interested. I really don't want to type any more because occasionally I will hit a button and it looks like ÉϾ×ɾÊÏÐļ¾É×ÊÏ so that gets very frustrating. If you know me well, I very frustrating. If you know me well, I can't wait to show you know me well, I can't wait to show you my pictures. I took so many today ranging from temples to samurai armor. This city is awesome and I am looking forward to the rest of my trip.

Sunday - went to church, began a computer program and worked until 10:30.  At 10:30 I went to study my Middle East and was at the library until 5:30.  I worked on a website until class where I took my final.

Monday - Woke from my short nap and began a paper.  I also worked on a take home test that actually required a lot of work.  Got to bed at 4:30.

Tuesday - Four ours after sleeping I woke to take a computer science test and do a presentation.  Once I got back to my dorm, I was in the RA office for 7 hours.  I finished my paper and a few essays for Civil War class.  I submitted them to the professor 10 minutes before the deadline.  I went directly on to studying and was up until 3:30.

Wednesday - Took my final final.  Wait, I am done now?  I am going to go sleep.

This was what my week has bee like.  I have hardly slept and every waking moment was spent doing school work.  I am not kidding, I spent ALL of my time on it.  It messed me up so bad that I feel like I should be stressed out now.  Maybe moving out and packing for Japan will aid me in that endeavor.
